This is first time I’ve used a web site such as yours. This is my experience...
The mechanic ‘Paul’ called me pretty quickly, he was knowledgeable and confident. We arranged for him to visit sooner to fit in with his schedule while he was in the area, not a problem.
He arrived as agreed early morning. Again polite and knowledgeable. He fitted his gauge proceeded to do the test to confirm that we had a leaky head gasket. After 30 mins job done and he was confident the head was leaking, which was what we needed to know.

As he was packing up I asked “how does it work with ClicMechanic?”, he replied “I don’t really get anything from them”. I had read the quote which says “pay with the registered card etc” and I ask him do I need to do anything, he said “you owe me £17 for the fluids (What fluids??) as the quote doesn’t include the full cost”.

I handed over £17, he then said couldn’t give me a receipt “you need to email for a receipt”.

I asked him about the cylinder head job and skim required, and he quoted me a price.

I was beginning to suspect somthing was not quite right. It started out with great promise and your website worked well. I think better clarity on being asked for ‘spurious extras’ would be useful, as on reflection I shouldn’t have been asked for extra and I shouldn’t have paid any extra.

Paul fitted a new rear coil spring on my car in July, after it snapped. His comms leading up to the appointment were good and he arrived exactly when he said he would.

Sadly, despite noticing that the rubber mount was missing, Paul continued the job without letting me know. It was only when he had finished the job that he told me the mount was missing but it would be OK but might "bang like hell". As it happened I had no idea the spring didn't come with a new mount, and the old one was actually sitting in the passanger footwell. When I showed him it I was told it was "too late now" and it would require additional labour costs that I'd have to book in for. At no point was I told that it wouldn't be road worthy without this additional work and my car has just failed it's MOT because of it. Read more
