Thank you for the email . Please see below the advert that attracted me to your services and I am sure you would agree that this indicates that you will send a Mercedes qualified mechanic. This is blatant misrepresentation of the service you actually offer.
When the mechanic arrived I soon established that he was not a Mercedes mechanic and he professed he had worked on ML Mercedes but not the later model I own.
Before changing my occupation I was a fully qualified "City in Guilds" mechanic and had successfully removed the door panel from the car but then was uncertain how to access the central locking actuator.
This is when I wanted an experienced Mercedes mechanic to complete the job.
I was very alarmed when observing him that he was trying to pull the panel away from the door without removing a securing screw located behind the central locking switches. When I asked him if he knew how to remove the panel he said he was not aware of the locating screw and shrugged his shoulders. At that point I was obviously aware that he was not familiar with this model and if continued uninterrupted would have broken the door panel. ( I was concerned who would pay for the damaged panel, probably running to several hundred pounds)
I then requested that as he was "not fit for purpose "that he did not continue further and reassemble the door panel.
I do not expect to pay when I feel the service offered was misleading and the mechanic was not qualified to do the job.
You said that the mechanic could charge £40 but I have been informed I have been charged £56.
I do expect a complete refund and if necessary will invoke the ombudsman to resolve this matter.
Kind regards
Grahame Keatley

Really friendly, phoned to say he was running late in the traffic. Fixed problem and gave advice what to do if it reoccurs again.
