Booked an appointment for a starter motor confirmed by RAC as the issue, booked appointment for 10-12 as was available so that’s what I wanted. Mechanic asked a few questions and told them it wasn’t the battery As had been tested. At 12:45 I chased them, they basically apologised and said did I want a battery I said no but because the time was now 14:00 we were out having to do jobs ourselves. We told them we were back at 1630 to which we had no response. At 18:00 they closed the job down even though they said they were open til 2030? Communication is very poor and I would avoid in the future. Mechanic definitely at fault for poor organisation. Took a job that couldn’t deliver on timescales. Read more

The issue definitely wasn’t the starter motor. We operate at a fine tolerance. Bringing a starter motor would have wasted both of our time. I offered to bring a battery repeatedly, we couldn’t make the original slot as you had booked a starter motor, late in the prior afternoon, and that’s all that got loaded on the van. When we found out it was the battery an hour before your appointment, I explained it would take a couple of hours to get a battery delivered and the van back to the depot
