Click mechanic sent me someone called Alan to do an independent vehicle inspection after a chain garage put the fear of god into me that my vehicle wasn't safe.

He called me to say he was en route and give an ETA. 2 people turned up (didn't catch other lads name sorry) but they checked the vehicle thoroughly inc a test drive and stated no issues with the vehicle other than what I already knew of (brake pads and discs) and a warning light which they re set from where I had a new battery fitted.

This saved me a whole lot of aggro in a vehicle rejection via finance and he quoted me for the repair that I already knew about.

His repair price was that reasonable the dealership backed down and agreed to pay for the works to be done by Alan which means I am now back on the road. Very happy and recommended Alan. 10/10

Alan was on time and very polite and professional, took My rear disc away as they where pressed in and very hard to free from hub, came back and fitted .. we found him to be very professional and great on the communication side of things.. I'd certainly use him again, and certainly recommend him.

No it caused me extra expense due to the damage he caused to my car both in the so called repair and paint work. Unreliable, I paid for a time slot rather than waiting to go to my usual mechanic an expensive decision on my part. Over 2 hours late I had to chase up

Reply from Alan:

Hi Claire,

As I explained, I was delayed because I’m currently on paternity leave and my mechanic was unwell that day. I still came in personally to complete the job and informed you of this over the phone.

Regarding your concerns about possible damage to your car, we did not cause any damage. The only contact that occurred was when It knocked into the van door ever so slightly before i caught it—it was quite windy at the time. There were no chips or marks found, but I still offered to repair anything if you weren’t satisfied.

As for the washer bottle, it was already cross-threaded when I arrived.
We advised you to replace the bottle and cap. If you’re still losing coolant afterward, that would indicate a blown head gasket caused by the car running with no coolant.

I genuinely hope you’re able to get this issue resolved soon—we all rely on our vehicles.

Kind regards,
alan

Mechanic diagnosed possible maf sensor leak test however indicated work required on ramp
But maf sensor on top of engine , confused

Reply from Alan:

Hi Mark,

Sorry for the late reply — only just getting around to your message.

As I mentioned, the next step would be to get the car on a lift for a smoke test to check for any air leaks. If everything checks out fine, then the MAF sensor would need replacing. An air leak can cause the MAF sensor to read incorrectly, so this test helps confirm where the issue lies.

Hope this helps clarify things.
