Positives: our clutch was replaced and it works fine; the job was done well. In addition, Shamshad noted that the front brake pads need replacing and was able to carry out this job, too. Negatives: Shamshad promised to get the job done in one day, but due to some problems with suppliers the correct car parts were not ordered on time. Consequently, our car was only returned to us on the following day. Fortunately, a courtesy replacement car was provided, meaning that the inconvenience was minimal. The car also needed some other minor work done; I asked Shamshad 5 days in advance by text message whether he could do it and received a "yes". However on the day of the main repair, it transpired that he was not able to obtain the necessary car parts in time. I appreciate that perhaps in these times getting hold of car parts is more difficult than used to be the case, and also that all times Shamshad was trying to be helpful, but in this case it would have been better if he was able to be more upfront about what he can and cannot do (i.e. keep your promises). When the job was done, there was also a mix-up with charging to my card: had I not been alert it would have meant I would have been an extra £75 out of pocket.

In summary: Shamshad is a good and caring mechanic. There is some room for improvement in terms of following through with the promises he makes to clients. Read more

It was a wonderful experience, easy and stress free. No waiting around, just straight forward.

Shamshad did a great job, nothing to complain. He is very friendly, the car was picked up and dropped back at the agreed time.

The mechanic was delightful. He came for the car twice because we had no locking wheelnut in the car and we had to source a fresh one. He was very understanding about it and we re-booked for a later date. The communication was polite and clear with plenty of detail. The job took a little longer than planned but the mechanic rang to explain and had the car back the next morning so we were not inconvenienced.
