Really happy with Chris Autos. On time, did the job I wanted and kept me informed

Chris called me prior to appt to clarify exactly what I was looking for as this was not pre purchase but was a dispute over condition of vehicle returned for repair. He was very helpful and knowledgeable and although I missed his post inspection call as I was driving, his full report was in my email by the time I got home. Would highly recommend this service as good value.

The alternator on my Volvo was replaced in no time at all. He was a thoroughly competent and friendly mechanic. I would use their services again without question.

They didn't do what they had to. My car had a coolant leak and faulty water pump. The mechanic was late and hadn't any parts, he wanted to take my car back to the garage. The car was driveable for a short distance, but they came from Glenrothes and obviously they believed they can take my car 35 miles away with a major coolant leak. Once the mechanic realized, the car isn't driveable back to Glenrothes from Edinburgh, he decided to go back and bring the parts what should have been with him. I had a hospital appointment afternoon, so I cancelled the job after i realized, the time is too short because it takes more than an hour to travel back to the garage and to my home. After this, they charged me and blamed me and Chris said i waisted their time and their fuel. Now i am fighting for my money and hopefully I can get back.
So simply they were late, they had no parts and they were unable to fix my car on scene, and then they blamed me when I cancelled the job.
My recommendation is, once your car has a problem people, call at least ten garages in your area and try to find a proper mechanic with acceptable prices. Read more

Brilliant service, good communication, changed and fitted new brake pads and discs in less than an hour leaving no mess behind, would highly recommend.
