I have held off long enough to write this review, spent £165 with this mechanic and still have same problem
the mechanic diagnosed that there was an egr valve problem, he removed the egr valve inspected it and said he did not think it was faulty and that it would be that the system was carboned up, so sold me an expensive cleaning process, on completion of that the engine light was still coming on, and he then said that the egr valve was the problem, he removed a vacuum pipe that comes from the egr and said that that had solved the check engine light, but the egr needed replacing, on driving it home the same day, the exact same thing happened the check engine light came on and went back into limp mode, i contacted him and he said he would check the codes, did not hear anything from him for a while so contacted him again, he said he was going to speak to a friend who was a vauxhall mechanic, and did not hear back from him ,i replaced the egr yesterday the 23 Dec costing another £40+ took the car for a good run, and again still have the same problem, check engine light and going into limp mode,, so the new egr valve has not solved the problem, contacted the mechanic again and again he told me he was going to talk to his vauxhall mechanic, this was well over a week ago, and no response, so i have spent over £200 and still have the same fault, except that the engine does seem to run a little better from the cleaning, when not in limp mode that is, not happy.
