At first I was convinced by what James the mechanic said on the phone. However after reading his report I am not happy with his work. The photo he sent as evidence of, in his words, a wreck of a van falling apart, was not in the slightest bit convincing. I’m annoyed that he could not drive the van but apparently there was enough fuel in there to take it out. At least to a fuel station and put some in. For £130 expense why did he not have some with him?
He persuaded me against buying it on the phone I’m not convinced and the guy selling it is a little perplexed to. I’m told by the owner he was only there half an hour.
I feel now I need another opinion!! And can’t afford another £130.
I feel that another mechanic should be sent to provide sufficient photographical evidence to justify his claims.

I can only report what I find.Cars or vans that are being inspected must have fuel in them and be in a safe and roadworthy condition.
Most sellers insure the cars do have fuel in
This van had no fuel and loads of heavy items placed loosely in the back making and test drive dangerous
I was on site for 90 mins.the owner arrived from work as I was on the inspection and he was their 30 minutes.
I told you the body work was tatty and the underside very rusty due to sitting in a field for years.
I did have a new mot and you asked me if it was a good long term buy to convert into a motor home.
I advised that this rust would mean a lot of work each year to keep it on the road
All I can do is report on the condition on that day so you can decide if you wish to purchase knowing the problems it has.
I've been doing this 35 years.i would rather give you a totally honest view rather then a rose tinted glasses view,
