Happy enough, but somewhat bemused by the line, "can't guarantee there are no underlying issues". Even for a basic check, this is what I am paying for - for you to identify any issues. This comment just feels like a "get out of jail" response if there are issues 20 miles down the road after collection. For what I pay for (and I have over 12 different mechanics from across the UK who have undertaken inspections for me, through Click Mechanic), I expect to be told that the vehicle is sound or not sound. I want the mechanic to tell me if they would have any issues purchasing the vehicle for themselves or not. Sadly this report doesn't give me that and the line I have highlighted from the report, feels a little like someone covering their back if anything goes wrong with the vehicle after purchase. The mechanic was polite with me on the phone, although the answers to my questions felt a bit vague. The report appeared to be comprehensive. However, when I went to buy the van, the seller told me a different story. The seller said that the mechanic arrived, told the seller he’d only need 10 mins, barely inspected the vehicle, did a 5 min test drive and that was pretty much it. The seller stated that a different mechanic from a different company had inspected the vehicle a few weeks prior and they had taken an hour and been very thorough. The seller was expecting click-mechanic’s inspection to be similar to this, and was amazed at how short/cursory the inspection was. The seller therefore thought he should let me know about it. Considering I paid for the mid-range inspection, I’m pretty unhappy to put it mildly. I won’t be recommending the company to anyone else. Read more
