please can you change me review. I was very happy with the service after speaking to a number of other garages and identifying that the mechanic did a very thorough job and ended up identifying the numerous problems with the car and saving me a fortune in the long run.

Hello, I'm sorry that I don't have your phone number as I would have liked to be able to call you to discuss the situation and indeed the condition of the vehicle at the time.
I'm not sure why you think we didn't call prior to arrival, because we did. Apparently it is the policy of the seller to not allow test drives in any case, something we haven't come across before. Perhaps they felt the outcome would be unfavourable.
I believe that even if the vehicle was test driven the number and extent of faults found during the inspection would have made purchasing the vehicle unwise.
Lastly, the test drive is around 15 minutes out of a 90/120 minute in-depth examination and in this case would have not altered the outcome of the inspection overall, which would still have been to advise you against buying the vehicle.
I can understand why you feel as you do, but I can assure you we are very concietious and work very hard to provide a good service, in this case the inability to test drive is outside of our control and all responsibility lies with the seller.
I am happy to discuss this further with you should you wish.
