The mechanic I "booked" was not the person who turned up.
I asked for a diagnostic, explained the problem and allowed them access to the vehicle.
10 minutes later I got a text message saying "Fuel pressure regulator mate" along with some screenshots of the OBD fault codes I already had (I have my own OBD scanner).
That's it, they were done. What could be the cause? What can we do about it? How do I go about getting parts or replacing things? How can I schedule that work with someone? How do you know it's the regulator?
He couldn't answer any of these things. He had simply plugged into the car and read off the first fault code. He didn't inspect anything mechanically or do any checks.
The problem turned out to simply be a clogged fuel filter. Nothing to do with the regulator. I understand you can't always know the direct cause from a diagnostic, but for the price I do feel it warranted some further technical inspection. Maybe even a look at the fuel filter, which would have revealed the actual problem.
As far as the "mechanic" was concerned his job was done. He got back in his car and drove away.
I didn't receive any follow up calls or next steps to actually resolve the issue.
That's probably a good thing as it would probably have cost me a lot more replacing parts that were not necessary.

Irfan didn’t show he sent a different mechanic. Text to say he would be there within the hour turned up 2 hours later to the wrong address. Didn’t have a light other than his phones light and was trying to work with one hand as he had to hold the phone light. Didn’t make the service seem professional more cowboy.

Mechanic was punctual, polite and sorted my problem. Very happy with the work.

Someone else called Sean turned up.
Sean was not a mechanic and in the 5 minutes he was here was just a disaster.

He didn't know how a keyless start worked. He released the emergency handbrake without realising and I had to shout.
He plugged in a really basic diagnostic machine connected to his phone, the kind that are £20 off Amazon.
I already knew the problem (starter motor) but needed a report and quote to proceed with my warranty claim, Sean sounded surprised when it showed the issue as the starter motor on his phone. I asked him not to clear the faults, he cleared them anyway. I said I specifically needed the report which he said would be sent over, it's been 3 days and still no sign.
Sean then dropped the car key into the section where the emergency handbrake is located (used when it was towed home by the AA at the weekend). Sean couldn't get the key out so I had to get it, scraping my hand.
To top it off, Sean left behind a really strong smell of cigarette smoke in my car.
I've heard nothing since apart from an automated quote for repairs. Click mechanic themselves have been utterly useless, they promise to send a vetted mechanic and I ended up with a subcontracted clueless chump in a tracksuit with the mechanical knowledge of a packet of crisps leaving a stink of stale fag smoke behind.

I'm £80 down, my car hasn't been seen by a mechanic for diagnosis, I still don't have the report I need, the mechanic isn't responding through the resolution centre, Click Mechanic have washed their hands of any responsibility.

I'd love to say I'm being overdramatic, but this really is the poorest of services and so far from my experience of working in the fraud industry it appears that this is a scam. I wish I'd done further research. Avoid. Read more

Mechanic was friendly and seemed to know what he was talking about, he diagnosed the issue but had no tools with him to try and rectify the problem. Told me what to do next but I'm not a mechanic the whole point was to try and have the issue fixed for me.

Kai was great, communication around arrival times and how the work was going ,spot on . Really knowledgeable, would recommend.

My mechanic was knowledgeable and gave me great advice on what needed doing in future. My van was fixed and back on the road within 45 mins. I've used these services before and will again. Trustworthy and fair priced.
