I began working for BMW in Leicester and spent around 5 years there before setting-up my own business called Reece Mechanics before moving with my family to India for 6 years and in that time continued my business. I came back to the UK after the 6 years and worked in another BMW specialist garage in Loughborough for 4 years as I had closed down Reece Mechanics. In 2014 I wanted to set-up on my own and RK Mobile Mechanics was born. I work on all makes/models of cars and all repairs, however after spending many years with BMW I specialise in German cars and also diagnostics.

Review:

To sum it up - don’t waste your time and money!

On 5th Nov I enquired online with click mechanic about the two indicators on my car. Service due and engine inspection required. Nigel called on 6th Nov and advised it will need service and both warning indicators should be resolved. He sent me a quote, I accepted online and booked for car to be picked up on 7th Nov (Wednesday) Reece - mechanic called Wednesday morning to say he had double booked and can he do it the next day, I agreed and had to stay home from work. He picked my car up around 10.30 on Thursday and brought it back around 14:35.
He said he had serviced it but could not clear the codes on screen as another garage borrowed his diagnostic kit and he would come round on 9th (Friday) strait after work and clear the codes. I texted him at 18:20 as hadn’t heard from him, he texted me back at 19:20 to say he had just finished work and can he come round in morning. Saturday was not convenient for me. I ended up agreeing to the next Wednesday 14th (as I don’t work Wednesday’s) he turned up as planned but realized due to the specification of my car he would need to go into the engine and earth something!?! and press the clutch pedal 5 times but he needed to take a screen shot of the procedure - so, he didn’t have the right kit to clear the codes so would come back on the Thursday 15th at 18:00 to do it, if he couldn’t make it he would text me to let me know and would come on the Saturday 17th instead between 09:30 and 10:30. I hadn’t heard from him on the Thursday or the Saturday. This is appalling service. I would have rather paid more for service, communication and punctuality than be so inconvenienced!

I have now had the error codes cleared by a local garage who simply cleared them through the dash and buttons on steering wheel (no diagnostic kit or earthing of something in the engine required! I had to pay a diagnostic fee of £25 which was my original query to click mechanic on the first place.

It’s been so inconveniently frustrating and I feel like I’ve been fobbed off. I would have rather him say he didn’t know how to do it!

Punctuality, service and communication means - returning customers and recommendations! I will not be returning nor recommending this company I’m afraid.

Reece kept me aware of how the job was going and had my car picked up and arranged to pick me up to collect it... I would highly recommend Reece... explained things very clearly.

Good afternoon gary i just wanted to respond to your review as i thought the scores given were not fair.

1 the reason the job got delayed is due to the clutch for your specified vehicle was a special order part and it took 3 to 4 days to arrive from the point your vehicle was on sight which i explained to u and kept you up too date with when the clutch arrived i started the work on your car to discover once the clutch plate had been removed it was incorrect unfortunatly this is not my fault due to the supplier sending me the wrong parts again this was a saturday and as you can understand the suppliers would not be able to get the correct one for the weekend.
So i rang you and expalined the situation to which u were ok with and i sincerely apologised for the issue in hand.

Omce the clutxh arrived on the monday i got the car dome and ready for you too pick up early afternoon all ready for you.

I also replaced two new ball joint bolts and my expence and dod not charge u for as i noticed they were ruined so i woupd appreciate it highly if you couod please change the scores you have provided thank you

Ford Ka Clutch replacement

I had a clutch replacement on my Ford Ka at a much lower price than Halfords or Ford dealers and waited for a week before leaving a review to see how the Ka was driving. It was more instantly responsive and the problem in selecting reverse is now OK although I found that I had to adjust the gear selection process a bit. The car was collected in the morning and brought back in the afternoon of the following day. Overall I'm pleased I chose ClickMechanic.

Great mechanic, arrived on time, kept up to date throughout, even gave me a lift to and from work after dropping off my car... would definitely recommend.
