Barry not only fixed the original fault as required but also checked the 12v battery which was also at fault. Would 100% request Barry for any future requirements.

I wasn't convinced by this mechanic.
He diagnosed the fault as either carbon build-up in the turbo veins, blocked exhaust (presumably he meant the DPF) or a random isolated incident.
Since the first two issues would involve significant further work and in case it was a random isolated incident, I asked him to reset the engine check light and I would see if it came on again.
The light did come back on and, as I wasn't convinced by the diagnosis provided, I took the car to a local garage. They diagnosed the issue as a faulty glow plug and swiftly supplied / fitted the part, the whole bill coming to less than I paid the mechanic for his original diagnosis. The engine check light has not recurred so the original diagnosis was incorrect.
Not sure I've had value for money on this occassion or that I would use this mechanic / service again. Read more

Barry was brilliant. He managed to get my car working again after it had sat for nearly 3 weeks outside my house after I had to be towed home from Swindon by the AA. I didn't actually think the car would ever work again. I am so, so grateful.

Very happy with communication and work done. Found the problem quickly and gave me options for the best solution to fix it.
