This garage has wrecked my car. I was assigned to them for a clutch replacement at a cost of £440 which I was happy to proceed with. They took my car on day 1, I paid £40 for a priority slot although there wasn't enough time for them to complete the work that day so it went over to day 2. I kept contacting the garage for progress updates as I hadnt heard anything and was told I now needed a gear changing cable replacement at a cost of £445 because it was broken. I was worried about this as it was drivable when they drove it away but was told it was no longer drivable and had to be replaced. I had to put my faith in them that they were being honest and would do a good job. I also got charged another £40 priority booking despite them already having my car. I still hadn't heard anything all day so kept chasing up as I was going away on the morning of day 3 (the Friday) and the garage closed at 5pm. I was told at 445 that my car would be with me by 6pm. It arrived at 645 and had an engine management light on; literally zero fuel (half a tank when they took it away) and my front car seats were filthy (they are light coloured fabric). 2 men brought my car back, I was on my own at home (female) but I challenged the engine management light being on; to which the response was they were as suprised as me and it had been OK. I would not accept the car back in that condition as I was frightened it was not safe (I drive my children in my car) so they took it away again. Day 3 and they said they'd put it on the diagnostic machine and call me first thing. No call so I called numerous times for an update to be told there was no fault, they'd give me a copy of the fault report and my car would be back with me by 12 noon. It came back at nearly 2pm (I'd had to borrow a family car in the meantime). The guy said the light was because if a faulty spark plug, that it wasn't on any more. My car now has 3 engine lights on (start stop, warning triangle, and engine management light). It sounds like a tractor and I can't get it into 5th gear. It is not drivable. I am so upset, the work cost me almost a thousand pounds, my car is literally wrecked and I will follow up with a complaint as far as I can with the Motoring ombudsman and seek a refund of my payment for faulty unsafe work. The ordered repairs were said to take 1 day, pick up in the morning and deliver in the evening.
This eventually took 3 days and for every delay I had to check with them myself for an update. They would tell me the're on the way but when I called them after 1.5 hours they would tell I would receive my car the next day. When my vehicle was deliverd there was a warning on the dashboard about coolant too low and shut down engine. The delivery driver must have seen this error message and but just kept on driving risking the engine. Filling the coolant was part of the ordered maintenance and was charged at £15.
I made an complaint about this. There is a winning noise from the engine aswell, will have to monitor and see if this is an issue. Read more

The mechanic arrived on time - even a little early - and proceeded with the work. He rang to say that some extra work needed to be done, which he would like to do as he was already working on that part of the car. I agreed to this, although cannot understand why I was charged an extra £20 for priority booking as the car was already sitting in the repair shop. He returned the car, and assured me that everything was OK and nothing more needed to be done. Since then, every time I have driven the car I have experienced a weird knocking noise coming from underneath, which I am not happy about, and I am sorry to say that I have had to register a complaint.

I was interested in how the repairs were being solved and was shown the items that had completely worn and were to be replaced.
