I wanted a diagnosis which means finding the problem. I’m none the wiser. Like I wrote on here before the job, got a coolant leak and want to know where it’s going. The guy was a nice bloke but couldn’t tell me exactly the problem. It could be this or that which I knew before shelling out £77. I paid for a diagnosis and the problem wasn’t diagnosed. I’ve now got to find a proper garage who can actually test it. Ok the guy gave me some numbers to contact but the be all and end all is I’ve paid for a diagnosis test???

By the sounds of the issues you’ve been having, and the parts already been replaced on the vehicle it looks as if everyone is pointing you in the wrong direction with the repair - as explained, the coolant leak isn’t external and due to the excess pressure present in the cooling system then it points to only one thing - the head gasket - with with the best will in the world unless the engine is stripped down your never going to confirm this but as explained yesterday - there is an internal issue with the engine, which due to the mileage is expected - hope the engine centres are able to help further.

The diagnostic got done. But the overall level of 'service' was very poor. I cannot recommend this mechanic.

You had booked a diagnostic check, which I arrived and did - but when I arrived I was advised that this was an in going issue and various parts had already been replaced in a view to repair the issue with the ABS light being on, and that the codes had been read already by someone else and I was being told that the issue was with the ABS ring, i was then told that the ABS sensor had been changed - I advised that the fault I was getting was exactly the same and there will be an issue with the ABS ring - I was told by the person who gave me the keys and explained the issues that he knew what was wrong with it already, I explained to him I was a little confused why a job had been booked if this was the case, and he said it’s his brother who had booked me but he doesn’t know why his brother booked it, he said that he has the repair in hand and will be doing it himself - so we said our goodbyes and closed the job down. I still am confused as to why a job had been booked when the fault had already been diagnosed and the owner/driver of the vehicle knew what needed to be done to repair the vehicle. Read more

I would of liked the problem sorted but being a brand new van wasn’t able to delete the fault looks like it’s a Ford main dealership yet again ,10 out of ten for trying but was unable to resolve the issue
