Changed £54 to come and tell me the same thing I had put in the description when booking... waste of money really... mechanic was lovely and professional, no problems with him...

Sorry for your experience Stephen! I had to carry out the checks necessary, I understand it’s frustrating the cam sensor was faulting after replacing and still is..
Again as I explained, voltages were all good to the sensor, I believe it’s also operating as should since the faults clear then reappear on turn over which means the cam sensor is not picking up its position from the cam it self.
Since you used a aftermarket sensor, it may be a good idea to get a original ford sensor due to possible fitting issues, if the sensor is too close or too far from the cam it self, theres a possibility of a poor reading.
So it may be a good idea to start with an original part and then if it still causes an issue, it’s definitely internal.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class Camshaft position (CMP) sensor replacement

Good mechanic, however the part was an extra £45 and used, not new, but seemed to fix the fault

I appreciate you thought the part was used, I bought the part from GSF and I expect it to be brand new and operational. It has warranty from them as it’s a genuine Bosch part and as mentioned if any issues I can speak with them regarding this and arrange an exchange.
Either-how, I’m glad it’s fixed the problem as it should’ve, I also understand the cost was extra but the automatic quote system used for the initial booking was incorrect. You can speak with eurocarparts and you’ll find the sensor they’re listing on their website is incorrect. The correct part is expensive and not in stock when I asked, hence me having to go to GSF parts and to a branch that’s not even local to me to just complete this job for yourselves.
