The mechanic missed his initial appointment time which is fine. He contacted me and explained the siutation with an earlier job which was difficult. It was more the communication with the seller was poor (owner of the inspected vehicle). We rescheduled for Tuesday and gave one time to me and another time for the seller and showed up late.
He rang me after the inspection and was quite vague about the condtion of the vehicle. Kept saying 'it wasn't good and he's seen better'. When in actual fact he was giving me his opinion on the vehicle aesthetic and not the structural integrity and mechiancal working of the vehicle itself. He said if he had the choice he wouldn't buy the vehicle himself. Later in the conversation though he did clarify that the vehicle was actually in pretty good condition with no major structural defects and that it run smoothly. His report was questionable considering he stated the rearview mirror was in 'good working condition' when there is no rearview mirror fitted. He forgot to read the vehicle mileage and so had to ask me for it so he could put it on the report. He did not pick up on the advisories which were outlined in the MOT that the vehicle underwent 2 days later (steering gaiter and suspension arm pin). The vehicle did pass the MOT. I question his experience with vans as he wasn't aware of the vehicle value and didn't pick up on the advisories. He didn't check seat upholstery because seat covers were fitted - an oversight in my opinion.
Ultimately I lost faith in the credibility of the report through my interactions. Read more

Dan could not sort the problem with my vehicle as his plugged in reader could not interigate the issue with the adblue system therefore i now need to take my vehicle to my local VAG /VW agent to have the problem checked out and repaired.
