Nick was fantastic, he arrived on time, was friendly and polite, when he discovered another problem he fully explained everything clearly, it turned out my problem was not what l thought, he fixed my car and it was cheaper then the initial price, also as my car was off the road a few hours longer he even went to the shop and got the paper l needed for my elderly neighbour do he didn't miss out. Nick was on time and continued to work through bad weather. Job took longer than he had anticipated but he didn't complain. (Although he was a Jaguar Landrover trained and experienced mechanic he wasn't too conversant with the X type, they were a bit after his time.)
Still, no complaints with the mechanic.
I do have a problem with your sales methodoligy. I had to confirm and give you my bank details before I got a date and time. This left me committed to the work before I could really prioritise the date. Ideally I wanted a next day response / fix but had to pay for the maintenance before being told that it would not be Wednesday which was listed as 'limited availability' but Friday. (I did have an offer from a local motor engineer who I had to turn down because I had already given you all my 'details'.)
This was much more to do with you getting your 'cut' and provisionally holding the money than it was to do with providing a service to me at my desired time and date. I also got three proposed costs from you. The first being £175 then £200 then eventually £215 Thats a £40 jump from initial inquiry to final cost. Please explain this to me!
Whilst that may be acceptable for bookings with a few days notice of requirement it does not really suit those who need a job doing asap. No such thing as same day service, even if the mechanic is available, which could cost the mechanics in lost job opportunities. Read more
