Nissan Note Carry out diagnostic check. previous garage suspected cam chain issue.
Check valve/cam chain timing, found no fault. check inlet cam variable pulley and oil control valve. found oil control valve sticking. clean off carbon free valve and test. now ok. refit valve. reset ecu adaptions, clear fault codes and road test.

Very approachable. Two garages misdiagnosed my car (blaming the timing chain - one of them being Kwik Fit), but Gary phoned me to say that once he got into it, he realised it wasn't the timing chain but the duct that allows a regular flow of oil to the chain. As a result Gary didn't have to replace the timing chain & I was only charged 1/4 of what I originally signed up to. I get the feeling that some mechanics would have replaced it anyway to get the labour hours. Very professional & helpful.
