Reply from Robert:
Hello Rachel,
I’m sorry to hear that you’re not satisfied with the work carried out.
During my visit, I performed a pressure test on the cooling system, which did not reveal any active leaks at the time. Based on this, I concluded that the leak may only occur under certain conditions. In your case, it is likely happening when the engine is cold and warming up. On the day of my visit, I did note that the engine was already warm.
On your vehicle, there is a metal coolant jacket connected to a plastic fitting. This is a known area where leaks can develop, as the metal expands and contracts with temperature changes, which can affect the seal with the plastic component.
As no leak was detected during the pressure test, I proceeded to jack the vehicle up and carry out a full inspection of the cooling system. Following this, I provided a quotation to rectify the fault.
Kind regards,
Robert
