The Mechanic was not local to the area and came 50+ miles away? He seemed okay at first and was kind enough to leave his car for me to use as he had to drive my car to carry out the repairs, he was sent pictures of the repairs carried out and some reports of work done, I had to wait two days longer due to having a gearbox inspection carried out by a supposed third party as a cash job that cost £795 plus £568.82 for a flywheel on top of my Click Mechanic price of £755.71 bring a total of £2119.53.
It took two days after the car was delivered back to get an invoice for the work done, the problem was he would not give me the name of the third party who carried out the gearbox inspection or put it on the invoice, I find this highly suspicious.
Reasons being I suspect the inspection has not been carried out and I have been charged and ripped off £795, I have asked repeatedly that I would like to know the company who carried out the inspection and he will not give the information, this can only be for two reasons, 1, the company does not exist and he has ripped me off or 2. He is protecting some one is not paying tax on work they do, I believe the work has not been done as it is evident that the gearbox has not been opened, I know the signs as I am a recently retired technician of 40 years working and training technicians and Mechanics, I know this trade very well and this is a familiar con that I have seen happen to people in the past.
This Mechanic should be investigated as he could be doing this to many people that are not aware because he comes across as a honest person but is a total con man.
I will be doing my own investigation on this mechanic and his company through legal channels to recover the money he stole from me.
I will not be using Click Mechanic for some time and will not recommend to the many people I know in the trade until I know this mechanic is not on your list of mechanics.
