Although I was i contact with Essex mechanic he let me know that there was a confusion with what was needed and the cost, he completed the work today.
There was a problem with my credit company and a sercurity block but that was sorted and an arrangement was made with Essex as the cost went up so a cash payment was made, but I still received a email from you saying I had paid with my card, this was checked and only a small amount was taken as the cost had risen by a few pounds over the agreeded amount. But the car has been repaired.

Dan was good and did the job efficiently despite the rain and sub zero temperatures. Somewhat annoying that the specfically requested parts had to be substituted on the day with parts from another supplier despite the order being placed over a week beforehand. Not sure if this was down to Dan or the office, but in fairness to Dan he did check this was OK before arriving.

The mechanic was very polite and a nice guy but he didn't really perform any checks.
He opened the bonnet and straight away told me it's the manifold that's leaking without testing it.
It's not whistling or making a noise so why would it be.
He didn't check the lambda sensor or wiring which a garage originally diagnosed as being the problem.
He actually relied on Google for information which is something I could have done.
Basically nothing was resolved and I'm not going to risk changing something that might not be the problem and throw money away.
I have used click mechanic before with great success but the recent £57 for a diagnosis was a complete waste of money I'm sorry to say.

Reply from Daniel:

Evening,
I plugged my computer in and was bringing up the same fault code that you mentioned.
The fact that you have already had 2x lamda sensors fitted shows this could be a costly fix for you as this fault is a needle in a hay stack.
I was being helpfull by searching the net for similar faults. The part that i suggested you change would be the part I would change personally- if that doesn't work I would change the inlet manifold. It's a process of elimination.
Sorry you feel this way
