disappointed the mechanic turned up with no tools, and was unable to complete the job , due to a leak in the cooling system.
I can appreciate the job was unexpectedly more complex than originally thought, but why was I charged the full amount, as if the job had been done, including materials that were not used. ?
Surely it should be a call out charge only!!

Hi im very sorry you feel this way. The car was booked in for a coolant change, I had all the appropriate tools to do this and I put 5l of coolant into the car, the waterpump was leaking which is driven by the timing belt.

We didnt bring tools to do a timing belt and waterpump on your Maserati on your driveway.
We still came out, I used the materials needs and did my job.

Hence why the charge was the same. As a bonus you received a free diagnosis into the issues with your car.

The whole thing was a disaster...meant to do the work on my drive on the Wednesday between 10&12 got a call at 11.45 to say can’t come but can pick up car following day they obviously hadn’t read it was an on drive. Arranged for car to picked up on Friday between 10/10.30 didn’t arrive so I called at to be told they were on another job and would pick up later. Finally collected car and told would be back that night...wasn’t and I had to call them on the Saturday to be told we are just putting car back together, called me 1hour later to say problem probably not fixed and would cost me £300 more, they had done any form of diagnostics on car and said it was always only 50/50 whether new clutch would sort it unfortunately they failed to tell me that. Finally agreed an extra £250 to sort it and they charged an extra £273 (got £20 back after going off at guy who dropped off) This is my experience and therefore would never use again. Read more

Hi im very sorry the job turned out to be a negative experience, we booked the job in for wednesday but when we were made aware that you wanted it done at home we thoroughly explained why it was better to do this at the unit instead which is why we rearranged for Friday as agreed.

When driving the vehicle back the clutch was hard to use and slipped hence why we carried on with the job the car was booked in for. Upon finishing the vehicle we realised the pedal was on the floor and that the hydraulic system was no longer holding pressure.

At this point we offered to fit the additional parts at cost price with no labour as a goodwill gesture as the replacement clutch had not fully resolved the issue with the car.


I thought this was a fair compromise but you treated us like dogs and threatened us with a negative review.

I fully understand your frustration with the added cost and again I charged cost price for the extra parts needed to repair your car. Travelled 45 mins to collect and delivered the car on a saturday. The extra cost was the commission charged which you agreed to pay originally but upon returning the car you let us know, very vocally, that you were not happy with the cost.

Again I can only apologise for the bad experience and I hope it does not put you off using clickmechanic in the future.

Sandiq was excellent, plugged in his magic box, tested two circuits showing problems. Having explained that i had a similar problem on a previous Matrix, he traced the fault( a wire covering displaced under the drivers seat) back up and running in no time at all. Thoroughly good job.
