My first time using clickmechanic. I put request on the morning of the day I was to buy the car I had put a deposit down on the previous week. It was a bit of a last minute decision, and was lucky Rob happened to be in the area . I couldn't have had a better mechanic, he was really thorough, went over everything with me which took about an hour , and then gave it a test drive. He jacked up the wheels and checked under the car, all the engine and under bonnet checks, and I was very satisfied by the time of my purchase that I had a decent buy. Although the car had had a service and MOT- and came with 3 months warranty, this pre-purchase check over was for my own peace of mind, and much better to do this before you buy in my opinion rather than after- as the warranty has so many exclusions.
