It was the most horrible experience that I ever had since owning and driving a car. The mechanic showed up on my door step and behaved in a terrible manner. He threatened me, intimidated me and tried to get some additional tyre works which he wasn’t appointed to. The ‘mistake’ happened from my side was that I asked him how long would he take to replace my brake pads as I wasn’t expecting him to pick my car for the job. I had no problem even if he picks up if he could bring back my car in 2-3 hours. When he heard that I’m going to replace all my 4 tyres, he wanted that job too and I refused. He said he can’t do his job if I don’t give him the tyre job. I refused and he left and later he complained that car wasn’t roadworthy. He was ready to drive the ‘no roadworthy car’ to his garage 3 miles away !! Clickmechanic to my absolute shock, charged me 40 pounds for mechanic not doing my job!! Worst experience with Clickmechanic and their garage. Never trying this again and going to spread my experience to all my social circle. Read more

Reply from ANA GARAGE LTD:

I would appreciate an honest account. The ClickMechanic resolution process indicated that your statements were inaccurate, and I would have preferred the full conversation to be made public.
I will respond to the point raised in your review.
On what basis do you claim that I threatened or intimidated you? I did not raise my voice or use foul or abusive language, as you acknowledged during the resolution discussion.
I said only that I would report the matter and leave a review because I was disappointed that you had expected a mobile mechanic rather than a vehicle collection. When I asked why you had not cancelled the booking, you said that you could not.
However, immediately after I left, you complained to ClickMechanic and requested a mobile mechanic.
Our conversation remained civil, and we agreed that the vehicle would be collected, as you have already confirmed.
You continue to focus on the tyres. You asked me to cancel the booking after arranging collection and the required work. During the collection inspection, I found that the front tyres were illegal. You said they were already booked for replacement, so I proposed collecting the vehicle on the condition that the tyres were replaced before it was returned. Although a vehicle may be driven to a garage for a pre-booked repair, it cannot legally be driven back with unsafe or illegal tyres and would need to be towed. You rejected this proposal, so I declined to collect the vehicle on safety grounds. While the vehicle was is in my possession, I would have been responsible if it had been involved in an accident or stopped by the police, regardless of your view that it was safe to drive. The booking was also marked “Not Driveable,” indicating that you were already aware of the tyre issue.
The real issue is that you expected a mobile mechanic but booked a vehicle collection. Rather than acknowledge the booking error, you blamed the garage. The safety of my staff and other road users is my priority.
If the tyres had simply been an opportunity to earn more money, I would not have declined the work that was originally booked in for, as accepting it would have caused less inconvenience and generated additional income. Money was not the issue; the problem was your failure to acknowledge the booking error.
We will respond to your inaccurate claims and threats to post on social media by providing our account of the events, which were addressed through the resolution centre.
