ClickMechanic provides a convenient service in saving a journey to and from a garage especially in cold weather in January. The procedure was straightforward. My car was collected at the time specified and returned that evening. I’d booked a full service at £182.50 which was a very reasonable price. The garage informed me that the CV boot was leaking and needed replacing, so I asked them to do that work. I wasn’t told, or asked, the price at that time and was surprised on completion to find it cost an extra £320. Doing a search on the internet, that price seems very excessive. Additionally, the Service Report says nothing about that work. As someone who knows nothing much about car servicing I can only accept what garages say, but more detail should have been provided as to why it cost so much. The car was returned with the service indicator light not having been reset so I am stuck with that being left on. I understand it needs a diagnostic tool to reset it but not all small garages have this. Read more
