Hey, I’m Carl a mobile mechanic. My work experience started when I left school at 16. since I really wanted to do something that I would enjoy. I found I had to work with my hands and so, finally, became a mechanic when I was 19 year old. I never did any training at college but rolled into a job at a Jaguar garage .I believe, being hands-on from the start really gave me an advantage over those guys who learned the trade in school, they’re more fitters in a way and don’t always find the faults in a car. I see myself as a technician; I have the diagnostic equipment and see very quickly what needs to be done.

I have e-mailed twice. This has nothing to do with the mechanic that had come out, because he was a very nice man. I explained my car is not starting, he identified the problem. However, I explained my gear comes up with auto gear fault, he said he will not use the Diagnostic machine. I thought i am paying 50.40 for a Diagnostic Inspection. Please understand I feel this has not satisfied my needs as to me this is just a call out. I will not know what's wrong with my gear box if I wanted to get it fixed together with the other fault.
