I was buying a 2nd hand van and wanted reassurance from an experienced mechanic if there were any issues before purchasing.

My job was assigned to Eric Brian. Unfortunately, it was a complete waste of my £205.

All tyres were at 30PSI when I drove it from the seller's garage. The recommended pressure is 42/46 PSI - no tyre pressure warning signals came on which is quite alarming to me. After adding air to all tyres then driving for another 30 mins, the tyre warning sensor comes on. I check the air pressure again but the tyres are at the correct pressure suggesting there is a tyre sensor issue.
This was not picked up by Eric - not even that the tyres were flat to begin with.

I tried to raise this with Eric but he replied:
"You paid for pre purchase inspection and I went and did exactly what I was paid for. I have already done my job. Please make your way to your nearest petrol station and put some air in your tyres. I am not tyre shop". He then blocked me on whatsapp.

Further, after driving the van home, I also spotted a small crack in the windshield. I looked back at photos I took of the van on the day I viewed it and it was there before I purchased. Again this was not picked up by Eric's inspection and something I could have reduced the price with the seller for at time of negotiation. Unfortunately I could not raise this issue with Eric directly as he had blocked me from messaging him.

The premium inspection promises photos but there were only 3 photos taken - all of which were of the inside only which provides no evidence of the exterior condition at time of purchase.

His report said the tyres and windshield were all in "good conditon" even though he didn't check them properly.

Based on Eric's lack of attention to detail, poor attitude, unwillingness to help or resolve his errors, lack of care and professionalism, I feel the need to leave a negative review.

the mechanic was super friendly and a really nice guy. that said the work carried out was not very good. firstly he was well over and hour late. not a problem cant be helped. he then plugged his diagnostic in my car at this point this is where it went all down hill. the machine could not find my car and after several attempts came back with an all clear signal (for a car it could not recognise) no faults found, when clearly i had called you for a fault in the first place. we both went for a drive and both could feel the car stalling at the first opportunity. clearly there was a problem there. nothing was resolved and to be honest i felt like i had been scammed out of £80. nothing happen nothing changed and i was told to bring the car down to his shop in south London when possible. felt liked i had been mugged off to tell the truth. i will be letting all the associated review sites know how bad this was. Thanks for your review. I did a plug in diagnosis and showed you results which matched your VIN, so it's false that I couldn't find your car.
Secondly, after observing and test driving your car , I concluded that it sounded like you had issues with your fuel injector. I mentioned this over 3 times. Lastly, you mentioned nothing was fixed, you booked for a diagnosis not a repair job. I came and diagnosed like I was paid for and supposed to do. Under no circumstances, would a mechanic drive to an address, diagnose and fix a car for £80. If you were under the assumption that I was coming to fix a car for £80, please take that on with the company, because that wasn't what you booked.
I am more than happy to attend your address again to resolve this.

Eric diagnosed the car however didn’t find the route issue of the problem with the AC however suggested it would be around 500 pounds to be fixed, he was polite however didn’t manage to find the route cause of the issue which is the main reason as to why I booked the service. He was able to tell me there was something wrong with it, however could not figure out what was wrong which is why I laid 200+ for it to be seen.

Hi, I'm sorry you feel dissatisfied with the service. You booked for a pre purchase inspection not a diagnostic check with a quote of repair. I carried out a 186 point check as required for a pre purchase inspection and upon completion, attempted to ring you with the results but your phone was out of covered area. You then requested a diagnostic for a problem with car and how much it would cost. This isn't part of the process , how ever, I still checked it and gave you a rough estimate on how much it would cost. You were rent charge for diagnostic and it's report.

Eric was great and really went the extra mile after being faced with a challenging battery installation. But he persevered, providing me with some potential alternatives, before luckily fixing the issue. All in the pouring rain! Would highly recommend.
