I was down in Bude for the weekend when my car broke down — turned out the alternator had failed. I called a local garage, but they couldn’t get the part for another 7 days, meaning I’d have to come back and collect the car — not ideal when I live 3 hours away.

My sister’s boyfriend, who works with cars, recommended ClickMechanic. I booked the job and waited from around 12:30. Being in Bude, I understood there weren’t many workshops nearby with the right parts, so I didn’t expect a quick fix.

Later in the evening, I got a message that a mechanic had accepted the job. Chris was fantastic — he kept me well informed, travelled an hour to get to me on a Saturday, and spent around 3 hours completing the repair.
