We’d like to take a moment to clarify what happened during your recent booking with us. Your original request was for a clutch replacement on your Hyundai ix35. However, once our technician removed the gearbox, they identified excessive play in the dual mass flywheel, which made it essential to replace the flywheel alongside the clutch to ensure a safe and reliable repair.
We understand this may have been unexpected, but unfortunately, this issue was only visible once the gearbox had been removed and is a common occurrence in high-mileage vehicles where the flywheel is worn.
This was not a result of our service, but rather the condition of the vehicle’s components.
We provided this update promptly and transparently, giving you the choice on how to proceed. As you opted not to replace the flywheel, it meant the clutch work could not continue and the gearbox was reassembled accordingly.
While we respect your decision, we feel the negative feedback may not accurately reflect the effort and professionalism shown in identifying the issue and communicating this to you as soon as it was found.

Never met the mechanic as my car was collected and taken back to their garage. Communication was good, contacted myself when the job was completed and said there could be another problem. After they checked nothing was found. Car returned on time. Excellent service all round.
