Mechanic arrived hour into time slot given, unfortunately they couldn't tell me for certain of it was gearbox or gear selector that needs replacing

Thank you for taking the time to write your review, please note that time slots given are a guide as to the time I will arrive between, you do not get a two hour slot of attendance. This was also a diagnostic session which I ended up having to jump start which is an extra service, I happily did this to be able to give you the best diagnosis possible at no extra cost. In regards to your vehicle i told you the issue was with the gearbox possibly the internal selector being the cause of the fault. How ever I feel you may have misunderstood my diagnosis, the selector is part of the gearbox and whilst you may be able to salvage one from a breakers yard, they can not to bought new as they come pre fitted to the gearbox.
I then suggested you took the car to a specialist gearbox center around the corner from you who would be able to help you further. Finally vehicles with an expired mot and tax should not be used or stored on a public highway.

With twin 5yr olds, suddenly you realise the difficulties without the vehicle. Thankfully, car was back on the road in no time.
