Colin began working as a mechanic when he was 16 at GF Shaw Limited, serving a 4 year apprenticeship. After 12 years as a valued employee, Colin left the company to open Colin Post Motor Engineers. Over the years, Colin has developed his expert knowledge and understanding of a range of cars and light commercial vehicles. Colin has managed to keep up with modern day technology with help of the Good Garage Scheme, Autodata and various motor manufacturers’ technical data systems. Many of Colin’s customers when he opened the company are still using him today – as well as family members of theirs. Colin is completely dedicated to the Colin Post family – he is proud of the supportive community values he has instilled in his family and ensures they are at the forefront of his company.

Tom Post
Tom has always looked up to his Dad, spending his childhood being a mini Colin. Adopting Colin’s love of Arsenal, fishing and cars – the pair are inseparable. Watching them work together as family, colleagues and friends makes the Post family proud of the wonderful relationship they have. 
Tom followed Colin’s footsteps and completed his apprenticeship at Colin Post Motor Engineers, with day release at Sussex Downs College. The superb knowledge that he had gained from helping Colin out at the workshop, enabled Tom to graduate from a three year course in just two years. Tom has formally worked at Colin Post Motor Engineers for the last twelve years; however there are many photos of Tom helping his Dad when he was a little toddler. Tom’s interest in cars has led him to completing a range of additional qualifications, including gaining certificates in specialist diagnostics, braking systems and air conditioning.  Read more
