Technical workshop managing director John is a time served master mechanic, previous Vauxhall master Tech and Lotus workshop manager with the last 13 year spent running a busy workshop working on every and any make. Managing director Paul and founder has 35 year experience in all aspects of the motor trade running the garage and general managing day to day. We are an independent garage covering all mechanical work from, clutches, timing belts/chains, servicing, mot/repairs, brakes, tyres, welding and batteries.

work was carried out as planned. Car was collected on time and I was kept informed of progress. good start. When car was delivered back to me, I noticed an oil puddle on the floor. I got back in touch with the garage and they were quick to suggest corrective action. They collected the car again and delivered it back to me later that day. Their speedy collection and return of my car is where my problems started. Too keep insurance costs low, I had a black box plugin device into the OBD. This recorded the mechanic's erratic driving and one alarming event of driving my car at 57mph in a 30mph zone and the insurance emailed me later that day that they were cancelling my insurance. I had to get back in touch with the garage to ask for a letter for my insurance that the car was in their possession. When I received the email from the garage owner, there was no hint of an apology and almost sounded like they were doing me a favour. Myinsurance accepted this letter and removed the driving offence/event from my record and did not cancel my insurance. But this event was not isolated as my score is still extremely low due to the mechanics erratic driving. This is not on ClickMechanic as this site makes it easier and streamlines the service of finding a mechanic but they need to hold their recommened mechinics to higher standards. I am likely to be given a poor renewal price in a few months due to this too costing me more to insure the car. Read more

Regarding the "speeding", this was on an open B road on the outskirts of a small village and not in any way a built up area. Our driver was genuinely mortified when we informed him of this as he thought this country road was a 60mph zone, hence he was travelling at 57mph, within the 60mph that he thought it was. He is a mature driver who has been with us for 2 years without a single incident or issue.

Further to which, your email comments "I accept this may have been a genuine mistake and maybe I should have alerted your driver to the black box. Pesky little things, I hate it and I’m not renewing with this insurance company.
Then customer also states:-
"No hard feelings and I do regret leaving the feedback on Click Mechanic now and not just picking up the phone to speak with you."
I agree, so remove the negative and unfair review then?
Every review we have contradicts this review.
We take pride in our work and the service we provide. on this occasion a genuine mistake was made which we rectified for the customer with a letter to his insurance company.
We make very little on Click Mechanic jobs, taking into consideration the "Free" pick up and delivery service and in this case the customer was over an hour away, so 4 hours in total, and we pay our driver to collect your car for Free.

We do not get paid what the customers actually pays Click Mechanic, as they are just the online "middle man" booking service that charges the customer a chunk of commission for all the work and parts we supply for the customers car.

Good communication from everyone concerned apart from a mix up with my mobile number which was rectified.

We were booked for collection and delivery, we leave a car at the address so we can get back. Mathew our driver was at your house to collect the car but you had already delivered the car to us therefore no car was at your house to return in. Apologies we would have delivered it back had I known it was easier for you and I could have picked Matthew up.

I cannot praise him enough. He was very polite, courteous and had a lovely smile! It was so easy to book, no hassle picking up or dropping off the car. So so pleased with the efficiency of the service. I have had issues with garages in the last 2 years but I cannot fault this company at all. Outstanding.
