Alhambra accepted the car for work to be completed on Monday. The work was not completed and were very rude when I phoned at 6pm to ask when the car would be returned. Said they were too busy. When I explained that they accepted the job for that day they weren't interested and were abrupt. Will not use them again. Very disappointed.

Collection and delivery service used. Arrived on time to collect, friendly. Called about additional work required, which I was aware of; completed and returned my car as expected.

Dropped off car a bit late but communicated well. Job was done very well and driver was vey polite. Will use again.

So, what I’m about to say is partly my own fault - I want to make that quite clear from the outset.
The first appointment, on a Monday, was supposed to be any time between 10.30 - 12.30 (vehicle collection). He arrived at 12.30, so within parameters. Fine, but when I said I needed it back by 3 pm we hit a problem (this is the bit that’s my fault, I’d said that it would be available all day, but my wife needed me to pick up my two boys from school)
However, the mechanic was happy to reschedule and we settled on the following Wednesday - he specifically said between 9 - 9.30 and entered it into his phone there and then. I got an email telling me that it would be collected between 9 - 9.30 and a text saying the same, so I fully expected the vehicle to be collected between 9 - 9.30.
10 am came round and no collection. I rang and I texted to find out what was going on and a text came back telling me he’d sent an email around 9 am to ask what time was good for me!! (I could have been sarcastic and said between 9 and 9.30 as I’d been told three times, but I didn’t). I had to go out, so I was concerned that I’d miss my prior appointment, made because I was expecting the mechanic to be here at the time stated. (The text was actually sent at 9.13)
By the time the car was collected, some time after 11.am, I got worried that it may not be ready in time for the school run, so rang the garage and sent a text. I was assured that it would be back before 3 pm.
I have no idea what time the car was delivered back to me because nobody knocked on the door to let me know it was back and it wasn’t parked back on the drive from where it had been picked up and I can’t see the road from my house.
I had to make emergency arrangements for the collection of my boys from school because I wasn’t aware that the car was back - if indeed it was! No phone call, no text - nothing.
So, in summary, if you want good timely service with good and effective communication, I wouldn’t choose this garage.
As for the work carried out, I haven’t driven the car because it’s my wife’s but she has no complaints. Read more

Great stuff. Told me that previous work done on the car was the route cause of the problem. Also rectified other issues too.
