Volkswagen Caddy Timing belt replacement

I had timing belt and ware pump changed on Tuesday 11th July 2023. Jamie indentified that I needed a new auxiliary belt. Fine, I showed him 3 belts listed on Euro parts website, he said he didn’t know which one and would be best if I booked another visit. This auxiliary belt was fitted in literally 5 minutes and I was charged £121 for the work and parts. This could have easily been sorted during fitting timing belt. I was willing to go and get the auxiliary belt. I feel as though I have been taken to the cleaners. I think the quality of the work was very good. If the work entails something else to be done and includes parts but can be done at the time, as would a garage, this where click mechanic fails, as it seems they are not prepared to go get another part from a parts supplier. For example , I have a plumber do some work at home and he needs another part to complete the work, he has gone and got the part and finished the job. Why can’t the mechanic do this??? Read more

Hi you booked your vehicle in for a timing belt and water pump replacement only. Whilst i was doing the job i noticed the auxiliary belt was worn i was in the middle of doing your timing belt so i would not leave to pick up a auxiliary belt at that point you came back out once the timing belt had been fitted and the van was nearly complete then you said you would go and get a belt witch is not a problem but you needed to wait for your wife to return in her car but she would of been 1 hour witch i cannot wait a hour as i had jobs on after your one i sent you a follow on quote and told you if you was happy with the price to except the quote witch you did if you was not happy with the quote then why did you except the follow on quote .
