My car was filled with 8.4L of oil when it needed just 6.4L - says ClickMechanic said my car needed that much and ClickMechanic said "sometimes our quoting engine gets it wrong, and in these instances we expect the mechanic to raise this with us before carrying out the work."

I haven't got time for pass the parcel. What's going to be done about it? Nothing that's what. I waited all day on the last message saying he'll try and get here tomorrow.

Bear in mind, I messaged 30 mins after the job saying my car's got a message on the screen saying "please reduce engine oil". I was told to wait a couple of days and see if the message goes away, and if anything it was only slightly overfilled.

I thought nothing of it, I've paid for an expert after all.

So off I went to London a few times and made the most of the 3 day weekend, stacking up some serious mileage.

I checked the message after a week and it's still there. That's when I checked the Castrol website and it said 6.4L, then Mobil, also said 6.4L, then EuroCarParts, also said 6.4L - you see where I'm going?

Then checked all previous main dealer servicing history, again 6.4L - finally my main mechanic returned from holiday, he checked HaynesPro, again 6.4L.

At this point I'm pretty livid, cos my main mechanic is 20+ years Audi and VW Group and he's saying don't drive this thing until I get there and drain it.

It's a shame cos some of these mechanics could make top dollar from repeat business, if only they knew how to run a business that takes accountability and ownership. Read more

Sandeep’s report was very thorough, his telephone call was of poor reception as he was driving and did not call me back as he said he would, other than that very happy with the level of service, I didn’t buy the car in the end, looking forward to a 10% discount on the next booking!
