Audi A3 Diagnostic Inspection

Nice enough guy but had to ask me how many cylinders my Audi A3 had - that was after he’d connected the diagnostic computer!
He was completely unable to find the problem I had with misfiring and suggested I could change all the coils and plugs. The local garage has since discovered they are all fine and did not cause the problem.
A disappointing result

Hi
It was very nice to meet you and thank you for the review. A disappointing result for you and a disappointing review for me. After I carried out the plug in diagnostic test a historical fault was apparent on cylinder 2 however the vehicle was running perfectly. You did explain that the car only shows this fault periodically and that it had not been driven since before lockdown. I only suggested to you that it could be a coil braking down and that it may sound like it was running on 3 cylinders. After talking to you for a while I suggested that if the fault resurfaces to become more permanent then the coils may or may not have to be replaced after more in depth tests were carried out.
I was under the impression that you would have me back to do this so the fault could be rectified. I also explained that due to the vehicle not being used for sometime then that could also be the cause of the misfire, after more use of the vehicle it should improve. It is unfortunate that sometimes some people fail to listen to what i say and think that I can work miracles for an hours diagnostic test.
