I have to respond to this description of my call-out visit to this lady's Ford KA engine problem. On examination it was clear the car's engine had run out of water on the motorway and had cooked itself. At a bare minimum the cylinder head would require removal significant work to remedy. Having had decades of experience of these problems I know it would be more expedient to source a new engine and that is what I explained to the lady at the time. If my visit appeared brief, as in 'popping the bonnet' all I can say is there was a proper diagnosis done with immediate effect.
