Mechanic was friendly but he denied to have knowledge of carrying on MOT as I had requested
Reply from Shashi:
Hi simon,
Thank you for your feedback.
Under UK regulations, an MOT can only be carried out by a qualified MOT tester at an authorised MOT testing station. Not all mechanics are certified to perform MOT tests, and mobile mechanics are generally unable to conduct an MOT because it requires approved testing equipment and facilities.
If you required an MOT for your vehicle, this should have been requested through ClickMechanic at the time of booking. Your booking was for a diagnostic inspection, and it appears that the request for an MOT was made only after the mechanic had been assigned and attended the appointment.
We appreciate your understanding of the distinction between a diagnostic service and an MOT test.

Slightly concerned when so late but arrived from Portsmouth at peak times. Didnt see a note for break fluid change when I paid for major service and appeared to report far more than the ford garage did prior (been attending for past 14 years).
Wanted a 2nd opinion and quote for a leak however quotes were not economical which i checked after the engineer left.
Thought it was odd being text the next day re: timing belt also "urgently needs changing". Was told I had driven approx 80k miles since last change which is not accurate half that is realistic considering I work from home.
Overall uncertain on quality of the service and feedback recieved.
Seemed far fetched, but not impossible.

Thank you for your feedback.
I are sorry you were left feeling uncertain about the service provided. On the day of your appointment I contacted you before attending and kept you informed of my expected arrival time. Unfortunately, travelling from Portsmouth during peak traffic hours resulted in a later arrival but within the slot.
Regarding the major service, brake fluid replacement is not included as a standard item. However, the brake fluid was inspected as part of the service and found to be in good condition, so no replacement was required or recommended at that time.
As an independent inspection, my role is to report all faults and observations present on the vehicle at the time of assessment.
This may differ from previous inspections carried out elsewhere and is not intended to contradict previous servicing history, but rather to provide our professional findings based on the vehicle’s current condition, and I showed you images as a proof.
The quotation for the leak repair was provided by click mechanic following your request for a second opinion and estimate. We appreciate that repair costs can be a significant consideration and there was no obligation to proceed with the work. As you mentioned before, you want to sell that vehicle.
Regarding the timing belt recommendation, I noted noise from both the timing belt system and auxiliary belt during engine start-up. The follow-up message was sent as a precautionary recommendation based on these findings as it was too late the day of service , I understand there may have been some confusion regarding mileage discussed at the time. However, recommendations for timing belt replacement are based on a combination of age, mileage, service history and condition. With the vehicle currently showing approximately 140,000 miles, our advice was given in the interest of preventative maintenance and reliability.
We value all customer feedback and would be happy to discuss any of our findings in further detail should you wish to contact us directly.
