A local garage had let me down saying they needed a 'special tool' they didn't have to change my alternator (after having the car in for two days!), also said I needed most of the rear suspension components changed (a possible 1k bill). Your mechanic arrived bang on time, fitted the new alternator quickly, and took the time to double check the back of the car, reporting that the other garage was in error. They were also wrong about a 'leaking thermostat', he confirmed it was in fact a weeping seal on the water pump.
