I can only say that I am so glad that I paid for a mechanic to do a pre-inspection. WE really liked the car, it looked in great shape with the bodywork and paint practically perfect, but it didnt take our mechanic more than 15 minutes to call me and say that the dealer had done a shoddy repair job and the nice paint work was hiding some major problems. Seems I dodged a bullet by not going for the car.
While the Mechanic report confirmed what he told me on the phone, it was still surprising that the rest of the inspection was all rated good, so if you removed the bad bodywork rating, all the internals would have been safe?.

Hi Iain. The reason only the body work was marked down as poor was because on visual inspection on the chassis and suspension was OK but like I said to you on the phone the car had been in a serious accident with almost every panel on the car painted including the roof. And was a very poor job with a lot of body filler used in places and lamps and plastic trims painted over. Yes if you take away the bad bodywork the car would have been very good with only 20 odd thousand miles on the clock. We have to mark each item individually and where the rest of the car was fine the bodywork is what really let it down.
