Great mechanic, helped me diagnose the issue and explained what my next steps were.

Confirmed the cause of the problem as the water pump, and reassured the vehicle owner that it wouldn’t be too expensive to repair.

The guy did the job required but upon further examination the remedial work was deemed economically unviable as the cat and dpf were both beyond help. So the vehicle is on its way to the big parking space in the sky.
