Benjamin was brilliant. Problem with car not starting was not obvious but he tried several different ways to get it going and finally he did. Needs a repair but he has explained exactly what needs doing. I would 100% recommend. Thank you so much Ben

Benjamin was very helpful, following poor diagnosis from the RAC. Issue eventually centred on battery. Benjamin gave clarity on this and made follow up call to recommend further action by me. i don't think the punctuality issue was his fault; probably confusion in your admin.
Would definitely want to use Benjamin again.

Ben was on time.
He plugged the diagnostic checker in and identified the fault but then proceeded to mislead us into thinking that carbon deposits had somehow damaged the turbo before offering to fix the fault himself for £450 - £500 by “getting some parts from Birmingham” and coming back later that day. When we refused this he fiddled about under the bonnet for a while and told us the vehicle would be ok to take to our local garage and was no longer in limp mode.
Our local garage was able to advise us that the problem would have been that the turbo hose had come off (the “pop” we heard when we lost power) and that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle.

Very unhappy that we were being misled by your mechanic asking us for £500 to fix an issue that was so simple to correct.

Thank you for your feedback.

I respectfully disagree with the suggestion that I attempted to mislead you.

During my visit, I carried out a diagnostic scan and a physical inspection of the vehicle based on the symptoms and fault information available at the time. As part of that inspection, I removed the intake pipe in your presence to assess the condition of the intake system and gather further information before reaching any conclusions. This was done to help identify the fault as accurately as possible and not to create unnecessary work.

During my inspection, I did not identify any disconnected turbo hose.
Had I found a visibly detached hose, I would have reported this immediately. My comments regarding possible carbon build-up and turbo-related issues were based on the vehicle’s symptoms, diagnostic results, and the findings available during my inspection.

Throughout the visit, I remained professional and focused on carrying out a thorough assessment of the vehicle.

It is also important to clarify that I did not pressure you to proceed with any repair. If any repair work was to be carried out, I specifically advised that it should be arranged through the ClickMechanic platform in accordance with the normal process. This demonstrates that I was following the correct procedure and not attempting to obtain work outside of the platform.

Any repair estimate discussed was based on potential faults that may have required further investigation and repair. It was not intended as a definitive diagnosis or a statement that specific components had definitely failed.

Vehicle diagnostics can sometimes involve assessing several possible causes before the root cause is fully confirmed. My assessment and recommendations were made in good faith, based on the information available at the time of the inspection.

I spent additional time inspecting the vehicle in an effort to identify the fault correctly and provide honest advice. I therefore reject the suggestion that I intentionally recommended unnecessary repairs or attempted to mislead you.

I take pride in providing honest, professional service to my customers and always aim to act in their best interests.
