What is an interim service?
Interim servicing is usually carried out in between the full services that are carried out in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations.
As a general rule, the first service is usually an interim one, then a full, then an interim, then a major before the cycle is repeated.
Service schedule or frequency.
Traditionally, servicing was carried out at 12,000 miles or 12 months, whichever came first. However, more and more vehicles are going over to flexible service patterns where the vehicle will advise you through the dashboard display when a service is due.
This is fine, but in reality you should check your owners handbook for the vehicle and follow the advice it gives. If this isn’t available, you are best to revert to the 12 months or 12,000 miles tradition.
Why should I book an interim service and not just an oil change?
Having just an oil change is quite simply a drain of the oil, an oil filter replacement and a refill of oil.
An interim service is more than that as all the fluid levels are checked and the vehicle given a safety check over.
What is the difference between the services?
Whilst there are manufacturer or even model specific requirements at certain mileages (i.e. timing belt replacement intervals), these are the following service items replaced and the maintenance checks carried out.

FAQ’s
Can I supply my own parts?
No, we will not fit customer supplied parts unless they are a brand new item, purchased from a dealership with the receipt as proof of purchase. There is no flexibility over this due to insurance and warranty issues.
Can you service vehicles that are still under warranty?
Yes, but please note that only the VAT registered mechanics on our network are able to service cars that are still under warranty.
Important: When you make a booking for a service through our site, you must add a note to your booking or contact us to let us know that your car is still under warranty. This will ensure only VAT-registered mechanics will accept your booking.
Can you stamp my service book?
Yes, but this would depend on the individual mechanic. When making a booking through our site please leave a note telling us you need your service book stamped. We will verify with the mechanics on our network in your area before assigning a mechanic.
When my service book is stamped, which company and details will show?
Currently the mechanics on our network would carry a stamp with them bearing details only of themselves.
Can you update digital service records?
Some manufacturers, like Mercedes, will have digital service records where information on all the services a (recent) car has ever had will be stored. Normally, digital service records will only be available to official dealerships and registered independent centres and mechanics.
Whether a mechanic is able to update digital service records will depend on whether they have access, or can get access to the digital service records. We advise to send us a message before booking, we will verify with the mechanics on our network in your area.

Do you offer end of lease servicing?
