Darren was fantastic and was the ONLY positive experience about dealing with click mechanic. Everything else has been absolutely dreadful. There is no way I would recommend this company to anyone I know.

Darran was thorough and professional. He explained everything extremely well and was very knowledgeable about my Landrover. He quoted me for work that needs doing.
I have asked clickmechanic for him again so he can carry out the work needed.

Reply from Darren:

Customer booked vehicle for inspection of fuel pressure regulator due to non start. Rather than replace what the customer requested,I carried out an inspection and found found fuel pressure to be good, I then carried out a diagnostic read and spent unpaid time checking all the customers fuses and relays. I found that water had been getting into his boot and had caused water damage to his starter relay. This was all done with the customer watching. I even provided an in-depth explanation on what needs to happen as a next step.
I feel disappointed to get a 1 star based on my quality as I pride myself on my work.
If the car went to a franchised dealer the customer would be 2 hours Labour down before getting the fault diagnosed.

Customer arrived late to the vehicle and did then requested to carry out the work privately and not via click mechanic he also wanted me to diagnose another separate vehicle within the paid investigation time which was well used before I spent a good 45-50 mins unpaid to get a diagnosis. I was more than helpful and even provided the customer with full details of next step of diagnosis. Unfortunately Labour time is chargeable and sometimes an hour isn’t enough to get to the bottom of a fault.

I am sorry that the SAM unit isn’t cheap but leaving a 1 star review when I diagnosed the vehicle is unjust...

The car will not crank or start but key turns in the EIS. This confirms that fuse 31 cannot be blown as this fuse provides circuit 30 to EIS, steering column module, and steering angle sensor...check

Now the next easiest check is to remove the relay N10/1kS and take a jumper wire and jump terminal 30 and 87 of the relay socket on the SAM N10/1. This should allow the starter to crank with the key on, if it cranks this confirms the starter, wiring, and fuse is ok. Now you need to look at the two measures listed below. If there is no power to N10/1f52, if that is correct as it will only have power while the key is in the crank position. If it does not crank, then you need to look at what was just mentioned.

you have no DTC's but can communicate with ME, then that confirms fuse 57 is ok as this powers the ME and you would have no communication along with many additional CAN codes from other control units.

Next step using DAS would be to check drive authorization of ME, ETC, ESM, and EIS. All those control units should say yes. If not then ou would need to look into the control unit not providing Drive auth. Assuming that is all ok..

Now we need to look at the actual values in ETC (transmission). There is one value in particular we want to pay attention to and that is Y3/6s1 - this is our starter relay cutout switch which is part of the contact plate in the transmission. A simple check for this is unplug the round connector at the trans and the vehicle will now start (trans of course will be in limp home mode). This part is known for various failures, but if that checks ok then...check crank position. If it does not crank, then you need to look at what was just mentioned.
