The mechanic did not turn up on Wednesday between 8.00 and 10.00.
I telephoned him at 10.45 and he said he had the booking for between 9.00 and 11.00.
I said you have about 10 minutes to get here then.
He then texted me about 11.15 to say he couldn't make it and could he reschedule for 08.30 on Thursday morning
on Thursay i texted the mechanic about 9.30 as he had still not arrived. He replied saying he would be with me about 10.15.
The job was finally done and the mechanic phoned me to say the car needed new rear brake shoes in order to pass the MOT
He said the price was £180. I thought this was a bit high but he said it was labour intensive so i said go ahead.

The car was returned all done.
I later googled the cost to replace the rear brake shoes. Click Mechanic quoted £100.93.
£80 less than i have paid.!!

Imran was friendly, honest and clear about the work.

However, the car was collected over an hour outside the 2-hour slot, which itself wouldn't be that bad, but after we were informed it would be dropped back at 2pm the following day - the car was not returned until the morning of the next day after that. This again wouldn't be much of an issue, but the communication was poor.

Having been told 2pm the second day, we heard nothing until we called at 4.30pm and were told it would be returned at 8pm that night. We again had to make a call at 8.30pm to be told it wouldn't be returned until the morning of the third day.
This was quite inconvenient for my elderly mother who after being stuck indoors for the whole of the second day, was then late for a hospital appointment on the third day, after discovering there was barely any petrol left in the tank. I appreciate there may have been the same level of petrol when the car was collected, but considering the poor punctuality and communication, it would have been a decent gesture to fill up a little more petrol.

I appreciate also that there may have been a family/personal issue that Imran had to deal with, and this may have contributed towards the issues. However, all that was required was some proactive communicaion to his customers about the situation, setting some expectations about timings. Instead we had to keep trying to reach Imran to find out what was happening, to be told inaccurate information several times.

Imran was courteous and communicative. The MoT on my car threw up a couple of issues which needed fixing- he explained them clearly and sent me a detailed written estimate for my approval before proceeding. He had my car back on time, with the documents completed. I will be using him again.

Zach was professional, courteous and very thorough. I ordered an interim service and MOT. The car was collected in the morning (later than I was expecting which is why I've deducted a star) and the service carried out immediately. Additional parts were supplied and changed FOC as a courtesy and Zach called to explain what was needed in order for the car to pass it's MOT. The car was delivered back when promised and had not only been cleaned but the petrol that Zach had used had also been replaced! I cannot recommend Zach highly enough and will be saving his number for future.

Peugeot 307 Basic Pre-purchase Inspection

Imran arrived on time to do a pre-purchase inspection which he did within the allocated time. He provided me with a verbal report as well as sending me an email detailing his findings. I found him to be very knowledgeable, courteous and friendly and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending him. I will certainly be using ClinkMechanic in future as well as recommending them to my family and friends.

After I texted to find out what had happened, the mechanic phoned to say he would be here in an hour (i.e. an hour late). In fact he was later than that. He spent a maximum of 10 minutes here to tell me what was wrong. If this isn't a rip off, I would like to know what is.

He said he would call the following morning with a price and time. In fact his call was afternoon the day after. His reason: difficulty finding the part (a front spring for a Ford Fiesta!). I let him know that I had now found someone else who had completed the work. He had the gall to ask me how much they charged.
