After Theo was unable to meet our appointment on Monday due to a family issue with his young brother, he messaged me yesterday morning to say that he could come that day, which I agreed to.
When he arrived he took my car for a test drive and was quickly aware of the problem with its acceleration. On returning he did the usual computer diagnostic check which showed no problems with the engine. He then made further checks and one of these showed a problem with the EGR valve.
He made further checks by reving the car when stationary which seemed to confirm his thoughts.
When he left he told me that he would check on what the total cost of repairing/replacing the EGR valve would be. As my vehicle is French registered I also gave him it’s chassis number.
As yet I have not heard back from him. I also told him that I will be going on holiday for several months on 14 November, but if I am happy with the total costs of the repair, the car will be available at Limpsfield Road to be taken to a garage.
He was very efficient and knowledgeable, and I just hope that his diagnosis is correct. Read more

Unfortunately Theo was terrible at communicating with myself regarding his availablity. He postponed work two times and was fortunate that my sibling was in the flat to give him my keys despite me saying I was unavailable on said date.

He was late, got wrong bushes
Broke one bolt and wanted to charge me to remove it
Now I have to find someone else to remove it

Theo was very personable and chose to undertake the work based on the fact that he had the same car himself so I was confident he would be especially familiar with what needed to be done.
The job was completed in double quick time once the necessary part was available and a follow up part was duly delivered to my front door the next day.
In terms of having a competent mechanic do the necessary work on my doorstep at a reasonable price and at my time of my choosing without having to go to a garage scores a big 10 out of 10.
I'd have no hesitation in using Theo again.

Theo installed new clutch on my VW Golf there was an issue subsequently but was corrected. Theo was very flexible arranging pickup via recovery service and also delivering car back to me same day. My only criticism would be around communication Theo did come back via text but it did feel a little laboured at times but a very personable and friendly person. All in all a good mechanic and a good price, quick and efficient.

Identified the problem, sourced the parts and fixed all within a couple of hours. Highly recommended.

Theo was friendly, appeared to know his stuff and fixed the car, so happy with that. However bill was £100 more than the quote, due to another part needed but not discussed and a charge for picking up the car which I hadn't considered, not happy with that...
