Still has problem. Still noise coming. Contacted mechanic but he is not free to pick up car until Monday

Reply from Pdl Mot & Repairs:

Good Morning Mr Islam, the Nissan was booked in for a diagnostic inspection at 1:00 yesterday. I arrived myself at 1:00 exactly after arranging this time with you and conducted the interrogation of your engine management system that the vehicle was booked in for. A DPF regeneration was required to clear your engine malfunction light which I conducted free of charge for you (we normally charge £40 for this)
The light went off and has stayed off.

The noise from under the engine I explained was a fault with your gearbox that would need to be booked back in to have it removed. This is a time consuming job and not something that can be fixed on the side of a road or quickly.

I arranged with you to contact our office in the morning as I answered a call to you outside of office hours last night to assist you.

As far as the diagnostic inspection that your vehicle was booked in for, this was fully conducted on time and efficiently and I feel conducting a free dpf regeneration to cure your issue was going above and beyond to ensure your vehicle fault was rectified.

please do not hesitate to call us should you wish us to have us look further into your gearbox fault.

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Brake pads replacement - front (all)

Vehicle was returned 40 minutes late because the driver made multiple stops to collect parts. He didn't realise the van was fitted with CCTV and caught out. On both occasions he left the vehicle unattended with the front window wound completely down.

The previous MOT suggested front brake pads were low; no mention of the rear brakes, however front brakes were changed but the warning light persisted.
In trying to fix the problem a blond gentleman jacked up the front of the vehicle and hit 7 bales out of something. When eventually returned the vehicle entered limp mode on A417 which means the RPM's will not exceed 3000 - which meant I had to travel the M5 at 50-58MPH.

The vehicle is therefore no longer roadworthy and I be taking it to Mercedes for an inspection and seeking legal advice.

Reply from Pdl Mot & Repairs:

Mr Yeandel
As I mentioned on the phone with yourself last week, I was absolutely astonished and outraged at this member of staff making multiple stops on his way to returning your vehicle.
His actions were in know way connected with my company and were completely down to one human being, who I had entrusted to safely and swiftly return a customer vehicle, going off his own back and making a desicion to do what he did.

As a result of the evidence you provided us, this staff member is no longer with my company and all currant and future staff members will now be issued with tracking devices, which will be closely monitored in order to ensure this cannot and will not happen again.

I have investigated my own cctv and the mechanic you are refurring too was using a rubber headed mallet to remove your passenger side front wheel in order for us to install the brake pad wear sensor. Vehicles of this size and weight put their wheels under great pressures and simply undoing the wheel nuts is not enough for the wheel to pull off, it is common practice within our industry to hit the wheel with either a rubber/copper/wooden mallet to break this pressure seal and ultimately remove the wheel, I believe this is what you witnessed.

Brake pads are mechanical components and a vehicle entering limp mode is down to usually a blockage or electrical malfunction. This is simply the vehicle restricting its parametres to ensure no damage is done until the issue is resolved, with simply changing brake pads there is nothing we could have touched that could have caused this issue.

however in light of the earlier events we would of course look into the issue free of charge and offer an engine management interrogation while you wait with the vehicle and give you an indication of the fault. If this is of interest to you please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.

On a final note I would like to apologise once again for the ordeal you had to endure down to this one individual, I take things like this extremely seriously, I have spent many years building a small, trustworthy family business that people can rely on and incidents like this that are completely out of my control and down to the trust I must place in my employees are devastating to me. As iv mentioned in this response earlier, actions have been taken to ensure this won't happen again.
