Was quoted £130 for water tank replacement, got a call from Wayne saying it will be £43 extra for the part because he had to get it from ford. I agreed then when the job was completed he tried charging my card £93 without authorisation. When questioned about this apparently it was £50 to go collect the part. No mention of this at all. After a few messages I didn’t believe he even bought a part from ford. No invoice was provided this guy is an absolute scam how you can just at £93 on to a quote without any evidence is beyond me. I would never use this service again. In terms of the work he was late arriving job was completed satisfactory. Be ware of extra charges for nothing. Read more

Well Jamie, I have to say, I totally expected this review from you.
The facts are: I called you the day before to explain that the discount suppler we usually use was out of stock of your part and the only way to get your job done on the day you had booked was to get the part from Ford directly (which we must pay full retail price for the parts). So you were given the option of waiting for the discount suppler to get new stock or get your car back on the road the day after, as booked. You agreed to the costs as you wanted your car back on the road quickly.
The part was an extra £44+vat and some of my time to collect the part.

I agree you was quoted £128 to do the job but you were also contacted the day before to inform you of the changes, which you agreed to and the job was amended on the system so you could see the full costs in advance of the job - you did not complain at that point.
I started your job an hour into the time slot window you were given and so I was fully on time.
I completed the job quickly and to a high standard- as you said your car is now fixed.
On completion of the job I tried to invoice you for the work and parts but your card declined with insufficient funds.
You then decided to deny you had agreed to the extra cost and came up with lots of reasons for you not to pay for the extra work and parts cost.
You were fully informed of the costs and you stood and watched me do the work in the full knowledge you did not have the funds to pay!
In an attempt to help you, I discounted my invoice for my time putting your price up only £44 (leaving my out of pocket) you agreed to this again, and when the invoice was altered and we tried to charge your card, your card declined again.
You then decided to start complaining about the job the cost and the times, actually anything you could think of.
Because I know this is just down to the fact you cannot pay, I have discount the invoice again to leave the price as it was. We have been payed £128 but it still leaves me out of pocket and making a loss on the job.
I wish you well with your car but I think your feeling of not wanting to do business again is mutual, and I will chalk this down to a lesson learned!

It was only an inspection booked. He was here for maybe 20 minutes (I guess I paid for his expertise), where he pointed out that the VAN is indeed a non runner. He basically said first thing to do is changing the fuel filter, which he couldn’t point out where it is, nor where the fuel tank is on this vehicle. He did not fail to mention his 30 years of experience fixing vehicles. He was only booked for an inspection thats job done for him, as for my opinion, it was a complete waste of money.

Hi Gergley
I’m sorry to hear that you aren’t fully satisfied however you did just book a diagnostic. I establishes almost immediately that the vehicle had insufficient fuel pressure at the injectors and the most common cause of this is a blockage in the fuel filter. In mind of the fact that your vehicle 20 years old and in a poor state of service I offered you the best and most cost effective way of solving this problem. I offered you the option of rebooking for the repair but you said you would prefer to attempt the repair yourself. The fuel filter is under the van close the the fuel tank and for obvious safety reasons is not a job we can attempt on a terrace street.

I understand your frustration but you must consider that your vehicle is a 20 year old commercial vehicle which has been neglected for some years. It is therefore impossible for any mechanic to resolve all of its issues in 50 minutes at the side of a public road. My offer of any advice you need is still open if you want to call me. We can rebook the vehicle for a garage appointment if you cannot solve the issue yourself.
